Important benefits for those affected by COVID-19

1 | Up To $500 Per Month
Paid directly to the Property Management Company/Landlord. Tenants and Property Management Companies/Landlords must both apply. Tenants Must apply first (more information below).

2 | $1,000 One Time Payment
From BC Government for those affected by COVID-19.

3 | $2,000 Per Month
Available for up to 4 months for individuals impacted by COVID-19 and not receiving EI benefits.

Financial support measures will provide up to $3,500 initially for the first month, up to $2,500 for the following two months, and up to $2,000 in the fourth month.

An update on the latest information we have regarding government initiatives for those whose employment has been severely impacted by COVID-19.

Renters Assistance Program

Up to $500 to be paid directly to the Property Management Company/Landlord.

Have a 2019 household income of less than: $74,150 for singles and couples without dependents or $113,040 for households with dependents

As a result of COVID-19: Be receiving or eligible for Employment Insurance; or be receiving or eligible for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit offered by the federal government; or have experienced, and be able to provide evidence of, a drop of 25% or more in monthly household employment income

Be paying more than 30% of current household income towards rent

Tenants Must Start the Application. A Landlord or Property Management Company cannot apply on behalf of a tenant. Tenants will need to apply first at the link below.

When a tenant applies, they must provide their Landlord or Property Management Company information. If you rent with Bodewell, please use the following; Company Name: Bodewell, Last Name: Realty, First Name: Bodewell, Email: office@bodewell.ca, Phone: 604 633 5511.

Not everyone who applies will necessarily qualify and not all who qualify will necessarily receive the full $500 benefit.

This plan, as it currently stands, will subsidize qualified parties for 3 months.

BC Emergency Benefit

A one-time, tax-free, $1,000 payment to British Columbians whose ability to work has been affected by COVID-19.

Available to BC residents who receive federal Employment Insurance, or the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.

Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)

A taxable benefit of $2,000/month for up to 4 months for eligible workers who:

Have stopped working because of COVID-19 and have not voluntarily quit their job or are eligible for EI regular or sickness benefits;

Had income of at least $5,000 in 2019 or in the 12 months prior to the date of their application; and

Who are or expect to be without employment or self-employment income for at least 14 consecutive days in the initial four-week period. For subsequent benefit periods, they expect to have no employment or self-employment income.

BC Hydro COVID-19 Relief Fund

If you’ve lost your job or income, the Relief Fund provides you with a credit to your account to reduce your bill.

The credit will be equal to three times your average monthly bill.

You will not have to pay this back.

The application window opens next week and you can apply until June 30, 2020.
